Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) or an Education, Health and Care Plan [EHC] are dealt with through the SEN Code of Practice and their placement is determined through the statutory assessment process or an annual review of their statement. If a particular school is named on an EHC this will take priority over the Admissions Criteria.
In year admissions for all year groups
A request for any other place at our school must be made using an in year application form. Please click here to access this form. As we have academy status and are a member of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership Multi Academy Trust, we are our own admissions authority. All in year applications must therefore be returned directly to our school.
If you are refused a place at our school, you have the right under the Schools Standards and Framework Act 1998 (Section 94) as amended by the Education Act 2002, to appeal against the decision. It is your opportunity to present your reasons for preferring our school to an independent panel who will decide whether your reasons are strong enough to overturn the decision of the Local Governing Body.
Please contact the school if you wish to make an appeal and we will guide you through the process.
We welcome prospective parents to come and look around at any time. Please contact the School Office (01761 221492 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org) to make an appointment, we would be delighted to show you our school.
