This very popular club will not run during the winter but will take place again in the Summer term. Please wait for news from the Office.
Environmental Club is open to children in KS2; sadly we are usually restricted on numbers. If it is over-subscribed, in the interest of fairness, names will be drawn from the hat.
The club normally runs weekly on Thursdays after school from 3.30 pm until 5.00pm (unless advised otherwise - please refer to the timetable). There is a cost to join this club of £50 for 10 weeks.
The children learn about the natural environment in which they live, what lives in it, where it comes from and what we can do to look after it.
We use the local environment visiting places like the Combe & occasionally sites which are slightly further afield, for example this summer we visited Blagdon Pumping Station, Radstock & Chew Valley Lake. Sometimes we may have visits from local experts.
The activities are hosted by Pat Barker & Steve Thomas who many of you will know from Forest School and whose passion for all things environmental is legendary. They are accompanied by visiting experts and helpers.
An example Timetable is available here.
If you or another family member has some knowledge that you feel might help to enhance this or future programmes and you feel you could spare a couple of hours, we would love to hear from you. If you would just love to get involved and support, we would also like to hear from you. Simply call the office and let us know.
Take a look at the Gallery showing some of our recent activities.
